Ice Wonderland

Ice Wonderland is situated at Kandawgyi Park in Yangon Myanmar. The Chinese sculptors established this technology based theme park which was being constructed since September 2011. Considered to be a joint venture between two major companies namely Asia Myanmar Consortium Development from Myanmar and Jian Xi Long Dai Culture Limited from China, this theme park was opened for the public on 25th February, 2012 but was closed in the subsequent year.

The Ice Wonderland was primarily added to a tourist park as a means of attracting more visitors. As per reports, the companies planned to keep a snow sculpture made out of 2000 tons of ice to be preserved at a temperature of around minus ten degree centigrade. A short ski tour was also a part of the scheme of things as it was regarded that both the young and the adults could enjoy themselves equally.

The Ice Wonderland included giant ice sculptures that included the Seven Dwarves and the Smurfs kept in monumental freezers with temperatures ranging from -10 to -5 degree Celsius. The sculptures that were put on display were changed after every 3 months to ensure that did not melt and their appearances were pitch-perfect. Jackets were provided to the tourists so that they could acclimatize owing to the sharp differences between the temperatures of the park and that of outside.

The Fire Man was one of the prominent highlights as well. Here the participants could pretend to be a fireman and throw water on the screen to put out a fire. Toboggan rides, ice slide were other attractions.
